I am getting older day by day just like everyone else, but my kids are getting older too.
I have a daughter who is 19 and a son who is 17 they both have their "N" and are able to drive.
My daughter is OK with driving the family car...BUT my son is another story!

My son wants the finest automobile that his money cannot buy.
Ferarri, Lambourgini, Mustang, Camaro, 350Z these are the cars that he wants right now.
We have had in depth conversations about an "investment" in a car.

It seems that from my life experience of many years I do not know what I am talking about.
It seems that in this day and age when you ar 17 you should be driving a very expensive car.

And then I showed him a picture of my first car...

I'm young yet at only 25 but my first vehicle was a 1980 Jeep J-10 with a flat deck, rust all over the place and a hole in the floor under the seat big enough to lose a 6-pack of... Uh... Pop, lol. Needless to say though, after being through a few vehicles and never having help with paying for any of them (and I think that's the key) you respect what you have and tend to take better care of it even if it is a pile of junk. When you finally get to a point where you can afford to get a nice vehicle you really have a sense of accomplishment and pride in what you have... I believe that's why you see a lot of older fellas that still have thier first vehicle and it still looks like it came off the showroom floor.

Thanks for your comments Blake. You are right on the money! You really appreciate something if you have worked hard for it.
